Christmas

CHRISTMAS 2012

Christmas this year was a little different to other Christmas's that we have had since living here in Tas, It was the first year that either we had't gone up to QLD or our family/families had't come down to Tas. So it was a very quiet time for us this year and to be honest I didn't really enjoy it. Though I still had fun I just wished we had a bit more Christmas chaos going on.

On Christmas Eve we started our day by doing some 'last minutes' then headed out to lunch as a family to spend some time together. Christmas Eve night was spent out at Deloraine at Aunty Jaynes house for the traditional Christie Christmas Eve that they do every year, This was actually only the second time we had been as previous year's we've been away or had other plans. Dinner was a hot roast and vege's and a wide selection of desserts. We had a gift exchange between the children

And then the children acted out the Nativity or tried the best they could! haha

  Lacey played Mary
And BJ played a wiseman then changed to a sheep so he says

After Dinner, we waited for the fire truck to come around the town with Santa hanging of the back throwing out Lollies to the kid's. I love that each town does this each year.

After wards we headed back into Shearwater to see the light's. There's this one house that does it every year and totally goes all out we've made it our little family tradition that we go there every year on Christmas Eve if we're here.

We had organized before hand to meet up with a few other families so the kids could run around together and have slay rides.

Once home the kids were quick to remind us to put out the reindeer food and santa's milk and cookies

Christmas Morning the kids woke around 7am which is pretty normal for them. The first thing we did was checked to see if Santa ate his cookies and milk and if the reindeer had done the same, They must of been very hungry reindeer's this year and a very hungry Santa as only a few crumbs were left on the plates!

We started off by talking to the kids about the 'true' meaning of Christmas and asking them questions and opening with a prayer. Once all that was over it was time to get to business. Brett handed out the presents this year, the kids put on there Santa Hats (a tradition from my family that I've carried down)

The kid's were really good opening there presents and used there manners very well.

  A new kitchen for Lacey

And a train table for BJ were just some of the gifts they got, Another one were some scooters! which they rode all the way down to Dallin & Alicia's house where we spent Christmas morning for Breakfast.

After Breakfast we came home and relaxed for a little bit and got the lunch ready for when Tim and Crista and Coby came over. We were still pretty full from our yummy Breakfast so we actually didn't eat that much at lunch time. We had hot meats and cold salad's cheesecake and fresh cherries and raspberries and a wide selection of drinks. In the afternoon the kid's rode there scooters and bikes outside for a bit while the parents relaxed.

Later on, we all left the house including Tim and Crista and headed out to Tim's friends farm where we spent the night as they were away and needed there animals fed. That night the boys went trout fishing the kid's went to bed and Crista and I sat on our bums eating snacks watching crime shows on Foxtel.

It was a very quiet Christmas this year and hoping next year we can make it up to QLD and spend time with the rest of the family. It was lovely to see the kid's so happy and entertained though and I know they had a absolute blast and loved it all, Im just being a sook and whining about not having the BIG family get together's that we're used too doing.

I'm Grateful for Christmas and that we can spend this time reflecting back on all that our Savoir has done for us and celebrate that.

I hope everyone enjoyed there Christmas!

xx
