Leven Canyons

On Easter Monday we decided to head to the Leven Canyons neither Brett or I had been there before and it was recommend to us to go. So we called Jake and Charlotte to see if they were interested in coming along we then packed a picnic lunch and headed on our way.

It was a little over an hours drive to get there and once we got there we decided we'd have a picnic first as it was lunch time and the kids were hungry. We sat down at some tables and ate away while the kids ran around and played for a bit.

Then it was time to start to the journey. The walk started off pretty easy it was nice & flat & straight and only took about 15 mins to get to the first lookout.

We then decided to proceed onwards (and I wish we didn't decide this!) Luckily and thankfully we started the walk backwards not realizing of course! so when we got to the stairs  the dreaded stairs! we were able to walk down them and not up them ... So, that may not seem like a big deal hey? but when there was a lil under 700 stairs 4 kids and a pregnant lady it was a little tough! we had a few stops on the way down.

Once done there we made it to the second lookout which was alot better then the first lookout.

Then we were on the home run! the last few km's to the end of the walk and it was all UP HILL!!! by this stage I was aching in places I didn't even know existed, I call myself a pretty fit person working out 3-5 times a wk but this was something else! I guess being pregnant doesn't help?

Brett thought it was hilarious to take pictures of the tired aching pregnant women!

After the walk we decided to go get some dinner together for FHE as by then it was close to an early dinner time. Then took the kids to the park at Ulverstone for some more playing. We had a lovely public holiday spent together as a family and with friends.
