On saturday we made the trek to Hobart for the day/night to watch the NRL, Brisbane Bronco's VS Melbourne Storm, I'm a pretty hardcore melbourne storm fan/supporter so I was very excited to go. When we lived on the Gold Coast we used to go to most of the NRL games who ever was playing we didn't care we just loved watching it live. I haven't seen the broncos vs storm play live since 2008 when we went to the semi-final's and of course the storm won we were at the bronco's home ground so my screaming for joy and excitement didn't go down to well with 1000's of bronco supporters around me, I was literally jumping on my chair .. So you get the idea Im a pretty hardcore fan now? Haha ...
Anyway, we got tot hobart at lunch time and went to all you can eat pizza hut for lunch, eww we felt sick afterwards! We then got to the north hobart footy club around 2:30pm and watched the state finals, followed by the womens touch finals, followed by the real game! storm vs bronco's. We sat front row so got a good view. The kids were really well behaved considering we were at the footy for about 5 hours they did really well, there really good at entertaining each-other.
BJ made lots of friends, he looks like such a little homeless boy here, dirty jumper, one shoe on...haha
waiting for the game to start!
Singing the national Anthem
The game was fantastic, loved every second of it .. Half way through Billy Slater was walking up the side line so Brett yelled out Billy! then I waved and he gave us the thumbs up! it was great!
Storm ended up beating Broncos by 4 points, so it was a super close game which keept us on our toes!
After the game had finished the bronco's were getting ready to walk off and were about 10m from where we were sitting Ben Hannant who i grew up with on the Gold Coast and is a family friend spotted me so I called out to him & he came over and had a chat with us Jake Prebble was sitting with us and was pretty stoked that a bronco player was talking to us! Jake got a pic with him and I snuck in hehe. When he came over in the beginning he gave me a kiss on the cheek as you do when you haven't seen people in a while & the news was filming us and showed it on sunday night news!
Then the Storm players were walking around the oval shaking hands, taking pics and signing autographs when Cameron Smith got to us I asked him if I could get a photo, my heat was literally pounding!! He is with out a doubt one of the best players of all time
We had a lil chat to Cam, We have met him before back at the 2008 semi finals we went down into the bronco change rooms to see Ben Hannant (from the bronco's) We had gone to the game with his sister and her Hubby whom we're friends with too, & Cam Smith walked past us so we said a few words to each-other about the game.
We had such a great day/night It was the best!! I wore my Melbourne Storm jersey very proud that day!
We left Hobart around 8:30pm and the kid's were asleep within 5 mins .. so it was a very nice quiet and peaceful drive home as they didn't wake until we stopped the car in our driveway.
