I was very very lucky last Thursday to head to Melbourne for 3 days ALONE! yep... that's right, no kids no husband - It was the first time that i was away from the kid's overnight but i new brett would be doing a great job looking after them and i new i didnt have to worry. I arrived in melb at 10am on Thursday morning where my mum picked me up we headed straight to CHADSTONE shopping centre, this place is INCREDIBLE! we were there for about 5-6 hours and didnt even cover the whole shopping centre. We went to the lindt cafe to try some macaroons, they exceeded my expectations - Hazelnut was my Fav! we spent way to much money which made my luggage alot heavier! That night my dad my mum and one of my brothers all went out to Hogs Breath for dinner, it was really to sit all together as a family as we haven't been able to do that in years with everyone living in different places.
shot of the lindt cafe macaroons, do try!
On friday me and mum headed over to Southland shopping centre another big one, where we met my mums parents, my grandparents at TGI Friday's, It's an american restaurant. We had lunch with them and caught up for dessert i ordered this --->
Malted turtle cake with hot fudge, caramel sauce, cream, ice ream and malteasers.
once we were finished we did a little more damage to the bank accounts and went shopping! After that my grandma took us to this USA FOODS shop that is near her house its pretty much a small american supermarket. These were my purchases --->
That night it was heathers hens night (heather married one of my closest cousins) I'd never met her before as she is from UTAH - she had't met any of the extended family for that matter so she was thrown a hens night, it was held at my aunties house with a bunch of us girls including cousins and friends, it was a great way for us to all get to know her and for her to get to know the extended family. we played games, ate dinner and dessert and laughed and mingled until midnight. Such a fun night!
On Saturday was a pretty lazy day, i went and got my hair coloured, walked around the shops a bit more and hung around at my brothers house. Saturday night was my Cousins second wedding, to explain.... He married an american girl so they were married in UTAH a few weeks ago and because our family is so huge not all could make it to USA, so they came back to Melbourne to have a second wedding here - It was held at the Langham hotel in melb city 5 star hotel! the reception was on the 25th floor (the top floor) in the alto room, it was a sit 3 course meal and my word it was amazing, I've never eaten such fine delicate food. The night was followed by speeches, dancing, and mingling. It was really nice to be able to catch up with my 101 cousins whom i dont get to see very often now living here in Tassie. My dad was born in NZ and has 13 siblings so you can just imagine how many of us there are? It was a great night and i had a lot of fun, I really missed my husband though and wished he could of been there with me enjoying the night. Kids were not aloud at the wedding hence why he stayed home with them.

Sunday Afternoon it was time to go home - i headed to the Qantas gates and flew into Devonport home to babies! Such a great weekend, i feel so refreshed and energized and so lucky i had this opportunity.
